Before you get too self-congratulatory, think of your interconnectedness with others, to others.  Do not merely observe them.  Think of how they perceive the world.  Try to understand their point of view.  Reject or accept what you see – it really doesn’t matter.   What matters is the act of seeing.  If you are unconsciously causing pain somewhere, perhaps this will help you understand how and where, and if it is deliberate.  If you are deliberately causing someone to suffer, remember the law of cause and effect.  You will reap what you sow.  Nothing revelatory about this, you say.  Well, that’s true enough.  But, it’s good to remember.
