My philosophy:
My goal is to create a supportive environment which makes you feel enthusiastic and successful with respect to technical writing. I would  You will have  many chances to write and re-write assignments.  I am flexible with deadlines (I realize that students are often deployed, traveling for work, or have temporary emergencies).  At the same time, I think that deadlines are important because they give you the chance to create structure in your work day.  In addition, I think it is very important for you to encourage each other and to participate in collaborative learning activities.  It will be fun!

Goals for Technical Writing

Students are expected to be able to construct well-focused, well-developed paragraphs, short writing assignments, and specific technical documents and applications.  Specifically, the student is expected to be able to evaluate technical writing; conduct online research; revise paragraphs; synthesize and present information; construct effective supporting body paragraphs; to use several organizational modes; construct complex sentences; use appropriate vocabulary and correct formal American English grammar.   Students are expected to understand and discuss complex reading, and to review and revise their own work, and work of others.
